Certifications and Performance

It's important that our products are safe, long-lasting and sustainably-made.

Many of our products are Certified Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 tests every element of a textile item, including fabric, yarns, sewing threads, buttons and labels, that make up the finished product. Tests are conducted against more than 1000 chemicals, ensuring that they exist at safe levels for consumers and the environment, as well as checking that banned chemicals are not present.

When a product is certified, it applies to every component and shade within the product range, as different chemicals can be used in different shades. It's a costly and detailed test process which requires annual recertification. Certifications can be checked independently by consumers online using QR codes, and certificate numbers found on certified products.

PFAs and Formaldehyde
Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs) are a large group of synthetic chemicals used in many consumer products including textiles, to repel water, grease and stains. Known for extreme durability, they do not easily break down, accumulating in the environment and human body. 

OEKO-TEX® has banned intentional PFAs usage since 2024, and imposes strict limit levels for trace level detection. From January 1 2026, OEKO-TEX® further tightened limits to align with EU directives, adopting a 250 mg/kg total PFAs limit, and a 25 μg/kg limit for individual PFA substances. Formaldehyde is controlled in the same way through OEKO-TEX® certification to ensure that, if present, it is at safe levels. As a further measure, OEKO-TEX® tests for total fluorine (TF) screening as part of the standard, which aligns with US regulation.

Though OEKO-TEX® certification doesn't guarantee PFA-free materials, certification ensures that in the unlikely event PFAs are used, they are within safe limits for people.

Since One+All does not offer any products in its range that have stain- or water-repellent coatings that could include PFAs, we’re confident there are no PFAs in any of our garments.

BPA
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical most commonly used to make rigid plastic and is rarely used in textile manufacturing. While not currently banned, BPA has been routinely tested as part of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 for many years, with certification limiting levels to 10 mg/kg in 2025.

Courtelle, Woodbank Polos and The Making Of Classic Polo

These garments are not currently Certified OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

Courtelle garments are made from 100% acrylic fibre. Acrylic is a man-made fibre derived from oil. The manufacturing process for acrylic involves large-scale industry infrastructure and complex chemical processes. Due to these complexities, it is not a sustainable fibre that can be recycled easily, unlike polyester, which involves much simpler production processes.

In addition, it offers no circularity in the product life and limited options for end of life use, making it a challenging product to improve. However, Courtelle delivers durability, easy-care, strong colour fastness and high abrasion resistance that make it attractive to the consumer.

We focus on sourcing from reputable, high capacity yarn suppliers in Turkey, the world’s largest producer of acrylic fibre and yarn. The yarn in our Courtelle knitwear is OEKO-TEX® certified, but some of the smaller elements, such as labels and elastane thread, are not. Therefore, to ensure consumer safety, we independently test our Courtelle garments to OEKO-TEX® standards. However, we are not permitted to formally certify the entire garment to the OEKO-TEX® standard.

We take a similar approach with Woodbank Polos and The Making Of Classic Polo, ensuring that the key raw material components are certified to OEKO-TEX® standards. We also carefully monitor the final garment production process, ensuring no additional chemicals are used. This approach reinforces our confidence in offering high quality, safe garments to our customers.

Yarn Count
The Cotton Count system is an indirect yarn count method where the yarn count is determined by the length of yarn per fixed weight. A higher count/number indicates a finer yarn. The transition from 40’s (previous Performa 50 blend) to 30’s (current blend) involves using a slightly thicker, heavier yarn, which in turn required adjustments to knitting tension to maintain the same garment appearance as the original blend. This adjustment may result in slight variations in garment weight, due to factors such as lot-to-lot yarn differences and washing/shrinkage.

While the new blend maintains the same appearance in fabric and garment form, it may weigh approximately 8-10% less than the previous blend, due to the yarn difference. This reduction in weight doesn't affect performance or the final look of Performa 50 garments. Attempting to knit tighter to match the previous weight would significantly alter the established appearance in the market.
